Harbor Beach, York Harbor Maine
Harbor Beach is a quaint beach tucked in the corner of York Harbor. To the left of the beach is "The Cliff Walk" which is just that - a scenic walk around the cliffs that overlook the beach. Just beyond the cliffs is a scenic park with the same views. To the right of the beach is The Stage Neck Inn, a 4 diamond restaurant/hotel with outdoor dining that is both child AND dog friendly (a great place to grab a bite after your shoot!). Just beyond that is the Fishermans walk, which circles around York River, and brings you to the wiggly bridge. The wiggly bridge is just that - a wiggly bridge! It is a foot bridge that brings you to a small island you can loop around an then walk back. The entire walk has beautiful backgrounds for photos.
The Beach
The beach is quiet and quaint, even mid summer compared to the other sandy floors in town. The lighting from sunrise/sunset on this beach is killer all year round. Parking can be a little difficult here - because it is resident parking only, but there is street parking just at the top of the hill from the beach, and only a short walk from there.
Fishermans Walk
Fishermans walk is another one of my favorite spots. The mouth of the walk is located just behind Harbor Beach. The walk starts with a stroll alongside the river, with a few wharfs on the left, and, depending on the time of day, a river littered with fishing boats. As the walk starts to wrap around a corner, you'll head under a bridge, and as soon as you are on the other side, the first thing you will see is the wiggly bridge. The foot bridge brings you over the river and onto a small island, which has a cute walk through the woods before you are looped back to the bridge again.
